Trauma Recovery
Treating Trauma: Finding Healing and Resilience
Trauma can leave deep emotional and psychological scars, affecting how people think, feel, and connect with others. Whether caused by a single event, ongoing stress, or childhood experiences, trauma often disrupts people’s sense of safety and well-being.
What is Trauma?
Trauma results from experiences that overwhelm people’s ability to cope, such as abuse, neglect, accidents, loss, or violence. It can manifest in symptoms like flashbacks, anxiety, mood swings, emotional numbness, or difficulty trusting others. Trauma affects everyone differently, and no two healing journeys are the same.
How I Can Help
My approach to trauma treatment is compassionate, evidence-based, and tailored to what is needed for each individual’s recovery. I focus on helping people regain a sense of control, safety and connection through:
Trauma-Focused Therapy
Techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other evidence-based interventions, designed to help process traumatic memories and reduce their emotional impact.
Body-Mind Approaches
Practices like mindfulness, breathwork, and grounding exercises can help regulate and manage the ‘fight or flight‘ nervous system response and other symptoms of trauma. Helping to restore a sense of calm and security.
Building Resilience
I’ll work with you to build personal resources, strengthen coping skills, improve self-esteem, and develop healthy strategies for managing triggers and emotions.
A Safe Space for Growth
Healing can take time. The therapy sessions provide a judgment-free environment where you can explore your experiences and work on your recovery at a pace that is right for you.
You Are Not Alone
Trauma can feel isolating, but recovery is possible. With the right support, you can move beyond the pain of the past and build a life of renewed strength, connection, and hope.
